Harlingen Portrait Photographer / Pilates with J

This is one of my favorite girls in town. She is just amazing and it helps that she was my older son 1st Grade teacher. Now she is adventuring with Pilates and I had the pleasure to help her with a few pictures for their website.
By the way, these ladies from My Body Pilates are fantastic! I just wish I had more time to be part of their group. Maybe I need to make time ;)

Thank you J for trusting me. We will do more cool pictures when I get back from my trip. I can't wait!

Harlingen Photographer / United Way

Last week I had the pleasure to work with United Way of Northern Cameron County. If you don't know who they are you need to check out their website right here. They do amazing work uniting the community to provide better opportunities for people in our county.

Here are just a few photos I made for them. Thank you to the Harlingen Fire Dept. and WhiteWings baseball team for being wonderful models and mom and daughters for their cuteness!

Blue Sunday Day of Prayer for Abused Children

I said it before but I will say it again, I love when my pictures are used to support a cause I believe in.
When asked to take a few pictures to support Blue Sunday Day of Prayer for abused Children I felt so honored and thrilled. And to know that they actually decided to use one of my photos for their campaign is just amazing.

April is Child Abuse Prevention month. The last Sunday of April is called Blue Sunday. This is the day when churches take time in their service to pray for the victims of child abuse and for those who rescue them.

Will you pray with us? Please pray for 3 things:

1. The children who are victims of child abuse;
2. Those who rescue and serve abused children;
3. Direction to become active participants in the fight to end child abuse.

Here is my picture they used in their campaign.

We have heart

When I decided to be a photographer, one of the desires of my heart was that I could use this gift that God gave me to bless people. Either by providing quality photography for people that can't afford it, by showing God's beauty beyond what we think of ourselves or by supporting people that has a cause.

That said, this photo shoot was to support an amazing cause very close to my heart.
I have told you guys the story of little Aaron and his heart surgery when I posted a few of his superman pictures a few months ago. Well, now his Wonder Woman mom is trying to make sure everyone knows about CHD (Congenital Heart Defect) and she asked me to take some pictures for their brochure.

Congenital Heart Defects is the #1 birth defect for children. They are looking for ways to bring awareness and raise funds for research for this disease.

You can read more about CHD and find out ways to help in their website www.childrensheartfoundation.org

And here are some pictures with some of my favorite kids in Texas. Thank you moms and dads for allowing us to photograph your beautiful children for this special purpose.

Fingerprints of God

One of my all times favorite song is played by Steven Curtis Chapman and is call Fingerprints of God. The chorus goes like this: "I can see the fingerprints of God, When I look at you I can see the fingerprints of God, And I know it's true, You're a masterpiece, That all creation quietly applauds, And you're covered with the fingerprints of God".

I don't think many of you know but ever since I first heard this song, almost 11 years ago, I started looking at other people with a different perspective and almost like I could see them with God's eyes. Not just a body and a face but a very carefully designed and accomplished work of art.

When someone ask me to take their pictures, right before arriving to the location I always pray: "Dear Lord, help me to help this person to see herself and her family as your artwork. Someone so beautiful and perfectly made that you would chose to die for her". That is the desire of my heart. To use my work to show God's beauty and the power of His fingerprints. Here are some of my favorite pictures showing God's Glory in him amazing work.
