I've been reading a great book called "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson. I think I am finally understanding Exposure. I still have a long way to go, but I feel a little more confident. Here are some of the pictures I took this afternoon.
Taken with 250mm lens - f/5.6 - 1/200 sec - ISO 100
I love this picture of grass. I overexposed it on purpose just because I love the light on it.
Taken with 154 mm lens - f/5.6 - 1/20 sec - ISO 100
This one is a little underexposed but I like the way it makes look like an antique photo.
Taken with 179mm lens - f/5.6 - 1/125 sec - ISO 100
This last two pictures show how changing the shutter speed a little bit can make a big difference. The first picture is very bright and nice and the second very underexposed.
Both pictures were taken with 214mm lens - f/5.6 - ISO 100
1st picture: 1/20 sec
2nd picture: 1/100 sec

Exposure
Here is a couple of pictures I took trying to understand exposure.
I know this picture is very over exposed but I like the way it looks like
With this picture I was trying to freeze the water. I love how you can see the water drops very clearly

Tomas first day of Kindergarden
I confess I wasn't trying to take the perfect picture here. I was just trying to register a moment. But I like the way these pictures came up. Even that I can see how I could have made it better.
I am trying to decide if I like the way the tire looks behind the subject's or not. (pic above).
On this picture, I love the feeling of the subject leaving to go to his first day of school. It makes me think that he is so little and so brave all in the same time.
on this last picture I was disappointed with the way the light came out. I was hoping for some light in his face instead of body.

Nature pictures 1
This blog
This blog is for myself. I don't expect anyone to come here. I just what a place where I can post some of my pictures and after a few years try to figure out if I got better or not. I hope I do. Not because I want people to think I am a good photographer. That would be nice, of course. But because I want to be able to keep memories the way that they came to me. I believe some times, you can touch a little bit of the magic of memories through pictures.
